Barbados Landship 'Vanguard'
The Sugar Hill / Braggs Hill 'Ship'
I first became aware of the Barbados Landship when we moved to Lammings, St. Joseph in 1965 - we would often hear the Tuk Band drummers on Holidays or special occasions such as the May Pole dance
The Tuk Band for the Barbados Landship 'Vanguard' wassails through Sugar Hill on Christmas morning 1971. They go from house to house where they play a tune and are rewarded with a tot of rum!

Kids on their way to see the Maypole Dance
The people of Sugar Hill and Bragg's Hill celebrate with a 'Maypole Dance' and the tuk band from the B.L.S Vanguard keeps everyone moving!
This Ship was performing at Dover in Jan 1973 - I believe that this was put on by the Barbados Tourist Board as I have a photo of Peter Morgan.
