Thor Heyerdahl & Ra II Arrive in
Barbados July 12, 1970
This was my first chance to record history being made!
50 years ago on July 12th, 1970, I was photographing Ra II arriving in Barbados.
The Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl had just proved that the ancients could have sailed from North Africa to the New World millenia before Columbus made the trip!
